“No one else will build Nigeria. Only Nigerians will build Nigeria”.
- Chris Oyakhilome
Introduction
In over 48 years since the Independence of Nigeria, much has been said about the over-all impact of leadership in the development of the nation.
“Think not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.”
In the light of this, the ReachOut Nigeria Foundation is being established to awaken the patriotic spirit of every Nigerian citizen and re-align their mental attitude towards nation building irrespective of age, ethnicity or class.
About ReachOut Nigeria
ReachOut Nigeria ® is a nationwide evangelical campaign that involves the free distribution of ‘Rhapsody of Realities’ to people all over the country. To know about the impact of Rhapsody of Realities around the world, click here.
ReachOut Nigeria 2007
In the year 2007, for the first time ever in the history of the nation, hundreds of thousands of Nigerians in an overt show of deep courage and faith paved the way to build a new and greater Nigeria. Taking the bull by the horns, they stormed the streets in every state, in every city and street corner distributing free copies of a universal guide that would lead us to achieving our united goal of building a greater Nigeria. Over two million copies of the favorite Rhapsody of Realities daily devotional was distributed on that glorious October 1st of 2007. Gracefully, creatively and proudly attired in the national colors these trailblazers danced, sang, clapped, and gave, celebrating our national day and 47th year of independence as a nation.
ReachOut Nigeria 2009
ReachOut Nigeria 2009 will give citizens of Nigeria, both at home and in diaspora, the opportunity to participate in Nation Building. The campaign, which is aimed at repositioning the mind set of Nigerians with 31 daily articles centered on thoughts of godly and moral virtues, which when developed and exhibited by every Nigerian will continually produce a new, vibrant, prosperous Nation.
To answer the question, “What is worth celebrating in 49 years of Nigerian independence?” Nigeria is much more than a geographical expression. A nation is not the infrastructure or the systems, but the body or community of people. Thus, Reach Out Nigeria is a celebration of the Nigerian people—a resourceful people; a celebration of the strength and resilience of a people, acclaimed world-wide as “the happiest people on earth” irrespective of past ordeals and misadventures in our politics and government. Reach Out Nigeria is building a future and the Nigeria of our dreams. That future is worth celebrating, so the Reach Out initiative is a celebration of the Nigeria we hope for and which we have seen.
